The R720 chassis appears less suited for this purpose than the T640. Additionally, the R720 will likely be most useful on the network as a dynamic QEMU hypervisor; however, it would still be useful to test the A6000 on this device while it is convenient to do so. The following should be done:

  1. Install the A6000 in the R720
  2. Install Arch Linux on the R720 with Nvidia drivers
  3. Test GPU on Arch Linux

Assuming the GPU is functional, move on to experimenting with the following with Debian installed:

  • Desktop
    • Wayland
    • Xorg
    • None
  • Fan speed
    ...
